PEACE AND JUSTICE
COMMISSION
Heal The Land Service
James Patric Driscoll, Chairperson
One only has to turn on the
television, radio or internet, let alone open the
newspaper, to see that issues of peace and justice
pervade our globe every hour of every day. Each year
members of our Peace and Justice Commission continue to
journey into that world in the area of prayer, worship,
advocacy and education.
Through our Heal The Land Services,
prayers are offered up at sites where killings have
happened through out our county, asking to "heal the
land" and reclaim our community for the God of mercy
and understanding.

Almighty Lord, if we offer you a devoted mind and
heart, you will offer to us every blessing on earth and
in heaven.
You grant our deepest wishes.
You give food to the body and peace to the soul.
You look upon us with the love of a mother for her
children.
You created this beautiful earth all
around us. And in every plant and animal, every
tree and bird, your spirit dwells.
You have
revealed yourself to us, infusing out souls with the
knowledge that you are the source of all blessings.
Lord,
we sing your praises day and night. We who are
feeble, glorify you who are powerful. We who are
little more than nothing, devote ourselves to you who
are everything.

Do not
stand at my grave and weep I am not there; I do not
sleep. I am a thousand winds that blow, I am the
diamond glints on snow, I am the sun on ripened
grain, I am the gentle autumn rain. When you
awaken in the morning's hush, I am the swift
uplifting rush Of quiet birds in circled flight. I
am the soft starts that shine at night. Do not stand
at my grave and cry, I am not there, I did not die.
╬
O Christ Jesus, when
all is darkness and we feel our weakness and
helplessness, give us the sense of Your presence,
Your love, and Your strength. Help us to have perfect
trust in Your protecting love and strengthening
power, so that nothing may frighten or worry us,
for, living close to You, we shall see Your hand,
Your purpose, Your will through all thing.
