In recent years, Associated Churches has begun offering ways for local Christians to reach out to those hurting in our world.
In May of 2010 we sent a team of over 20 people to minister to those in need of physical and mental care in Haiti after the devastating earthquake.
Currently, Associated Churches is developing a disaster response and missions ministry. Our goal is to connect the faith community, its volunteers and resources in times of disaster.
We are exploring areas of need that our group of churches might be best able to help in times of local or national disasters.
These may include:
- food relief
- infant supplies
- debris removal
- rebuilding efforts
- organizing donations
- spiritual counseling
- worship opportunities
Further, we hope to partner with national organizations active in disaster to further this ministry.
To learn more about how you can respond, you may find the "Guide to Disaster Ministry in Your Congregation" to be a helpful resource provided by Church World Service.
